Medallion Golf Course and Country Club Community
Columbus, OhioThe Medallion Estates development, located adjacent to the Hoover Reservoir, is one of the most environmentally sensitive large-scale projects in the area. Hundreds of acres of natural, wooded area were preserved by the golf course and surround development areas. This included 80 acres of protected wetland and a 32-acre blue heron rookery. Approximately 500 homes surround this 27-hole golf course.
EMH&T was instrumental in gaining support of the myriad of project stakeholders; the developer, Genoa Township officials, Delaware County officials, and many environmental groups, all of which had input into the development. The City of Columbus was also involved in the process, as Hoover Reservoir is a major water supply for Central Ohio.
EMH&T provided complete civil engineering and surveying services for the golf course and residential development. Our engineers designed a major sewage lift station to serve the development, as a central sewer was not available to the area. The Maxtown Road Lift Station and ancillary piping provides service to nearly 2,400 acres of land west of the Hoover Reservoir, allowing for development of Medallion Estates and the surrounding areas.
